‘Schoolgirl Missing’ is the first book I have read by Sue Fortin, and it won’t be the last.
Neve and Kit are a happily married couple…bar one issue that threatens to tear them apart. Although she has legally adopted Poppy, Kit’s daughter by his first wife, Neve is desperate to have a child of her own; having lost Poppy’s mum in childbirth however, Kit is adamant that he doesn’t want another despite heavy pressure from Neve. Adding to the picture is Jake, Neve’s attractive art teacher and a temptation to Neve, particularly as he makes it clear he is willing to give her the child she so desperately wants, and Lee Farnham, a shady character from Neve’s past.
When Poppy goes missing one night during a family boat trip, there is no shortage of suspects for a kidnapping; but is it possible that the culprit could be closer to home than originally thought!
This was a good read, a developed plot, and although the characters weren’t particularly likeable, they were relatable!
I give this book 4 stars.
