How can we solve conflict without understanding how it works?
I had never really thought about this before, but ‘Unbroken Circles for Schools’ by Ken Johnson was an interesting and eye-opening read providing a real and thought provoking insight into how conflict begins and, unless it’s dealt with, can move quickly into a cycle of negativity that can be neverending unless we break into it.
Just as grief studies divide the different stages up into various emotions, so Ken Johnson breaks the circle of conflict into different stages – and they were spot on! I recognised each and every stage in myself and my own conflicts and although the book is for schools, it has been very helpful in identifying patterns of thought and behaviours that can be changed.
An excellent book which I would thoroughly recommend.
