I picked up ‘The Emotional Compass’ by Ilse Sand, expecting to find guidance and insights into understanding my experience of thoughts and feelings. However, although the book is rooted in the CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) principles of Thought-> Feeling -> Action, in my own personal opinion, it lacked any real depth.
I did find Ilse Sand’s observations linking how an emotional response can guide us to understand our deeper feelings quite useful, but the examples provided were I felt quite poor at times in underlining her observations.
I didn’t finish the book.
I give this book 2 out of 5 stars.
