Behind Closed Doors by B. A. Paris

Wow!  I have read some outstanding and gripping books in my time – and this soars amongst them with an easy five star rating!  An amazing, chilling, rivetting, page turning read.  I loved it and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone who wants a really good read…I already have!

We all meet and greet people every day, drive or walk through streets filled with busy, occupied homes, visit shops, theatres, cinemas and restaurants full of couples, families, friends…but although we might wonder (I certainly do!), we never really know what goes on ‘behind closed doors.’

This particular story focuses on Grace, beautiful, gentle and sweet, a devoted carer to her disabled sister Millie and a successful buyer for Harrods; and Jack, handsome (he is compared to George Clooney after all!), confident and employed in work that offers wealth and security for the future.  Jack is the perfect suitor; charming, kind, polite and loving, saying and doing all the right things and finally Grace thinks she has found ‘the one.’

Jack and Grace are keen to be wed as soon as they possibly can; keen to be a married couple at last; keen to be husband and wife and move into their new house together.  They want the same things from life….

Or do they?

From the moment she begins her walk up the aisle on her wedding day, Grace’s life begins to collapse around her.  So begins the reality, and the nightmare, of her marriage to Jack, as the terrifying truth about her new husband is revealed and Grace, quite literally, begins the fight for her life!

I won’t say more for fear of spoiling such a superb book for the next reader, but trust me, once begun you won’t be able to put it down!

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
