‘After She’s Gone’ by Lisa Jackson just wasn’t for me. The story sounded great in the synopsis – two rival sisters in Hollywood, a murder on a film, and a missing film star – but the excitement and suspense that I expected from this book to keep the pages turning was decidedly lacking. About half way through the book I still felt like I hadn’t actually got anywhere – Allie was still missing, Cassie was still looking, relationships were still confusing – and I was still being tantalised by frequest references to their mother’s stalker who had terrorised the family and contributed significantly to the mental health issues among them all.
I give this book only 2 stars.
